EKG Technician Program (CET)

Electrocardiogram (EKG) is performed to detect problems with the electrical activity of a person's heart. Once the EKG diagnostic computer is hooked up to the patient, it will detect the heart's electrical activity and reflect it as line tracings on paper. Becoming a certified EKG Technician will give you the advantage over someone that is not when seeking employment. At Allied Healthcare Training Institute (AHCTI), our program will pave the way for you to achieve your EKG certification. AHCTI's training will provide you with real-world training and practical hands-on experience to successfully perform these procedures in a clinical setting.

Program Description

The program, taught be physicians, is composed of both lecture and clinical hours, emphasizing the anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology. Below are key topics you can expect to learn in the EKG Technician program (CET).

Introduction to Electrocardiograms - Learn how to perform and interpret an EKG – you’ll handle the equipment and learn how to properly use it. Patient approach, preparation, and communication is also covered.

Cardiovascular Anatomy and Physiology - Learn the anatomy and physiology of the heart, blood vessels, cardiac cycles, and blood circulation. Also you will learn about normal and abnormal cadiac rhythm and the most common diseases that impair cadiac function. It’s key for EKG Technicians to understand how the heart works.

AHCTI offers real-world EKG training that will help you be more prepared for your CET certification.
